So I had to produce a bag for the March raffle at Embroiderers’ Guild. NO pressure. No pressure at all. The theme was ‘yellow’. Unusually for me I tried a bit of preparation, design-wise. By way of experimentation, I opened up the Turmeric jar from the spice rack in the kitchen and dyed some white velvet in a saucepan. The rest came together with some machine embroidery and a bit of slightly dodgy hand embroidery. At the stage when the whole flower was yellow I was informed that the whole thing looked ‘rubbish’ and needed a contrast colour. Thank you to James for that design input.
